I’ve been rather lazy this week and probably will be next week too. The holiday season is stressful enough without creating more. If you were hoping I would be posting blog posts about holiday baking, then I’m sorry, you’re following the wrong blog. You won’t find me baking cookies, cakes, and pies for the holidays. Nor will you find blog postings about crafting.
This is what you will find:
A Story About Us: What Staycation Really Means: Me, David and His Royal Highness
Recipes & Kitchen Tips: Meatless Monday Recipes, and lots of other Mountain Vittles.
You may even find some pretty crazy stories, like the one about The Goat, The Bear and The Frazzled Mountain Woman. You may also hear about my everyday battle to stay smoke-free or about our day at the river or some other mountain adventures. However, this blog is mostly about the love of food.
Like I said, if you’re looking for holiday baking and crafting, move along. I am not Martha Stewart, it takes way to much energy to be like that. What I am, is a foodie that loves my life in the mountains with her husband and cat. A foodie that loves to cook (on my own terms/timing, of course). If you like that, then, by all means, hit that follow button in the top right. Follow us on Pinterest, Twitter or like us on Facebook. I hope you’ll come back often. There’s no telling what will happen next.
Thanks for your support. That is all.

Hi Debbie I stumbled across your blog looking for a recipe for spinach and mushroom quiche and boy am I glad I did.!!
I don’t normally care for blogs but yours grabbed my attention; you are so down to earth and funny as hell.
I can so relate to you on the baking I can’t make a piece of toast without burning it but put me in front of some cast iron and look out; yes I will be making/baking my/your quiche in a cast iron skillet with a friend of mine who is responsible for the timer. LOL
Keep doing what you’re doing I’ll be following you. Oh and watch those typos . Hell fire 🔥 here I thought I was the only one that grew up ON a farmer’s daughter. It’s nice to know I’m not the only one 😜

Hi Renee! So nice to meet you (virtually that is)! You know, I eat at a local restaurant that has a large chalkboard on the wall and someone has beautifully written on it: “You are what you eat… so don’t be FAST, CHEAP, EASY OR FAKE!” David and I are about as down to earth as two people can get. We don’t showboat and play pretend. There are enough fakes out there, so I refuse to fit inside the mold. 🤭😁 I’m glad you can appreciate where I’m coming from and can get a good laugh from my typos! 😁 Thanks for following along in this crazy place called life. ❤️
