Today is Our 3rd Blogiverary and 3 years ago today, I made my first blog post. Has it really been 3 years already?
I almost forgot about The Mountain Kitchen’s Blogiversary. I haven’t been in the kitchen very much the last couple of months. I have been playing catch up, since I’ve been sick. I am getting better and stronger every day, so it’s time to get blogging again!
When I started this blog, I was feeling chills from smoker’s flu. I fumbled around WordPress trying to figure out how to do this blogging thing. That part hasn’t changed very much, but this blog helped me turn useless energy from smoking, into something fun and positive. I am still smoke free and have not had a single cigarette since January 01, 2013 at 10:58 p.m. According to my handy little phone app, Cessation Nation, I have saved almost $4000. I haven’t smoked over 18,000 cigarettes and I have saved almost 100 days not smoking cigarettes. Every now and then I will have a craving, but I don’t long for it the way I did. I am now glad I quit smoking. I didn’t think I’d ever say that.
I just couldn’t let today go unmentioned. I really enjoy this blogging thing and I want to thank you for stopping by to visit us at The Mountain Kitchen. Your visits are what make all of this so worthwhile. Yes, you! You, the person that took 5 minutes out of their day just to see what kind of crazy meals David and I made, what His Royal Highness has been up to, our life here up on the Blue Ridge or to read the crazy stories like the one about bears and goats.
Tomorrow we celebrate 4 years of living on the mountain. Our story is complete and the finally parts will be released in the coming days!
I will be getting back into the kitchen again, but don’t worry, I have some recipes saved up for release too, so you won’t go away from here hungry.
Here’s to another year of food and mountain life!
Our love to all ♥
