The Bird That Would Not Get Done

We had really good intentions for supper tonight. Originally we thought that I would make my homemade lasagna. After some debate, we bought an oven stuffer chicken with a pop-up timer. The plan was to let that bake in the oven and then that way I would not have to stand in the kitchen all afternoon making the lasagna.

We started the chicken at 4:00 p.m. We slathered it down with the homemade herb butter that I made yesterday. We sprinkled it with salt and pepper and then we placed him on a roasting pan rack and into the oven he went at 350 degrees. Per the instructions on the package, the chicken would be ready in 2 hours at this temperature. We thought that it would be done around 6:00 p.m. and would be sitting here our love seat eating dessert by now. Did that happen? HELL NO! That damn bird is still in the oven! Going on 4 and 1/2 hours later. I am thinking that if it’s not ready in the next thirty minutes, then I am getting a slice of coconut cream pie and then going to bed.
