Ingredients

  • 1 ¼ cups mayonnaise
  • ¼ cup apple cider vinegar
  • 3 teaspoons prepared horseradish
  • 2 teaspoons granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon lemon juice fresh
  • ¼ teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • hot sauce to taste
  • kosher salt and fresh cracked pepper to taste

Instructions

  • Whisk the ingredients together in a small bowl. Pour the barbecue sauce into a jar with lid. Refrigerate for at least one hour to allow the flavors to meld together.

Notes

The hot sauce: If you are not a fan of spicy food, you could leave it out or make two versions one that is mild and one that’s spicy for the spice lovers in your life. I like to use Cholula because it has a robust flavor without the lingering heat that some sauces tend to have.
Storage: The sauce will keep in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to a week, so save time and make it ahead!
