David's apple crisp uses fresh golden delicious apples and topped with rolled oats, sugar, cinnamon and pecans. A wonderful dessert for fall gatherings!
Peel, core and slice up 6 apples into a 9x9 baking dish. Pour in sugar and toss to coat the apples.
Topping
In a medium bowl combine oats, brown sugar, flour, and spices. Cut in butter using a pastry cutter or two knives, until mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Then stir in nuts and sprinkle the topping over the apple filling.
Bake at 375 degrees F for 30 to 35 minutes or until the apples are tender and the topping is golden brown.
Serve warm with whipped cream or ice cream on top.
