Ingredients

Filling

  • 6 apples (Golden Delicious, preferably)
  • ¼ cup granulated sugar

Topping

  • ½ cup old-fashioned rolled oats regular
  • ½ cup brown sugar packed
  • ¼ cup all-purpose flour
  • ¼ teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1 dash ground nutmeg
  • 1 dash ground ginger
  • ¼ cup unsalted butter
  • ¼ cup pecans chopped

Instructions

Filling

  • Peel, core and slice up 6 apples into a 9x9 baking dish. Pour in sugar and toss to coat the apples.

  • In a medium bowl combine oats, brown sugar, flour, and spices. Cut in butter using a pastry cutter or two knives, until mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Then stir in nuts and sprinkle the topping over the apple filling.
  • Bake at 375 degrees F for 30 to 35 minutes or until the apples are tender and the topping is golden brown.
  • Serve warm with whipped cream or ice cream on top.
