Today I’m sharing our January Mountain Moments. This is a recap of what happened in the month of January, in and outside of our mountain kitchen.
Is it just me or did January seem like it was a little longer than usual? It just seems like Christmas was a really long time ago. A lot more than a month. I’m not sure if it’s because we’ve been at home more or what.
With the spike in virus cases, David and I have been spending a lot more time at home and only going out to eat at uncrowded restaurants right at 5 pm when there are fewer people.
This month we were able to catch one of our favorite local music duos perform one evening. It was great to see them and being able to listen to live music did our hearts good. At least things felt normal for a few hours away from home.
NEW RECIPES COMING SOON…
David and I have taken most of this month off from cooking and blogging. Sometimes it’s just nice to cook and eat without having to stop to take pictures, write down notes and eat warm meals.
We worked on two new recipes this weekend. Perhaps you saw us on Instagram or Facebook making chicken on our new Weber rotisserie. That chicken turned out fantastic, so stay tuned…
2021 SURVEY
If you participated in our 2021 Reader’s Survey, thank you!
Over 150 subscribers participated in our survey. It will take me a little while to analyze the survey results because we will read each and every one of the responses.
Survey results always make us a little nervous, because we don’t like to disappoint people. This year’s survey results were uplifting and informative.
We don’t hear from regular readers as often as we would like, so that makes it hard for us to gauge how everyone feels about the content we post. These surveys help us understand what you want to see and how to make this blog enjoyable and helpful for you.
I know surveys aren’t that fun to take. Thanks again to all that participated. It means a lot to us!

COMMENTS OF THE MONTH!
“ABSOLUTELY LOVE your detailed instructions in this recipe that are printable. So many sites have good instructions but do NOT include detailed instructions like you do. BRAVO to you.”
Janet (Comment & 5-Star rating on Bacon-wrapped Smoked Meatloaf)
“Absolutely love this recipe. I make it over and over. Followed the recipe exactly except mine was finished cooking sooner. Pairs well with a cauliflower and cheese side dish (fake Mac and Cheese)”
Terrie (Comment & 5-Star rating on 5 Steps to Amazing Oven-Baked BBQ Pork Tenderloin)
“I found your recipe after much searching; other recipes had too many ingredients, including yeast, when all I wanted was a simple cracker. Thank you so much for sharing this recipe!”
Laura (Comment on Homemade Saltine Crackers)
‘TIS THE SEASON
AROUND THE MOUNTAIN
With the days getting a little longer now I think David and I will take advantage of some nicer days and take some walks. We both try to work out 3 days a week and walking is something we can do together.
I took a walk the other day during my lunch break while working from home. I had forgotten how much this mountain road will work you. My Fitbit told me I climbed 39 flights of stairs. Take that gluteus maximus!
JANUARY MOUNTAIN VIEWS
That’s all of the January Mountain Moments. See ya next month with more moments from the mountain.
Thanks for reading!

I love your pictures of the mountains and your area … I live in a small town in Pennsylvania . Farmlands and mountains are just minutes away. Keep them coming!
