David and I are suckers for store-bought frozen French bread pizzas.

Why? I do not know.

There’s nothing all that fancy about them. Not long ago, using our beloved “clean night” french bread pizza as inspiration, I decided to make some homemade vegetable french bread pizzas for Meatless Monday.

In a strange twisted way, I use to enjoy cleaning the house. But that is before I became older and a lot lazier. I try my hardest to clean the house from top to bottom every other week, on Thursday night. I started this when I lived in my small apartment in Virginia Beach; before David moved in with His Royal Highness and me.

I do not believe in doing routine chores on the weekend. The weekend is a time for relaxing and enjoying things you spend all week working for.

Our laundry day is on Monday (of all days, right?).  We go ahead and throw that chore onto the toughest day of the week and save other minor chores for the rest of the week. This day was chosen when we first moved to Louisa, Virginia. David was off on Mondays. It just made sense for him to do chores while he was home and laundry day on Monday just stuck.

David vacuuming the house

David helps me clean when he hasn’t had a really hard day at work. When he helps, I finish in time to sit down and relax before bed. If he doesn’t help, it practically takes me until bedtime to finish.

I have been thinking about having someone come in and clean our house for us. David is all for it, but I don’t know. I feel like I’m being lazy. Our neighbor told me “it isn’t lazy, it’s quality of life”. When she put it that way, I fell in love with the way she thinks. I don’t know, I’m really on the fence about this one… should I?

I mean look at this hardwood floor that I have to vacuum and mop! This is only a quarter of it…

  • You and I are having the exact same thoughts regarding the house cleaning! Dave just says to hire someone, while I feel kind of silly paying someone to do something I could do. BUT I like the way your friend thinks. We’re so strapped for time, it would be great to have a few hours back to do something fun! I say we do it! ☺️ Also I love those same frozen French bread pizzas, but these homemade ones look delicious, will be making these soon!

    • Annie!!!! Should we really?!?!? I’m not sure they would be up to my standards… they have to be able to clean that weird corner behind the bathroom doors!!!
I’m like Oprah, I LOVE BREAD!!!! Homemade are even better than the frozen ones!

  • I’m so glad you guys had such a lovely weekend because I can TOTALLY relate about the whole cleaning vs hire someone to clean thing.
I’m literally at that point myself and that’s a crying shame because I live in an APT and you live in a house lol.
Yummy food per usual my love <3

    • I’m glad I am not alone in this whole cleaning thing. I didn’t mention I only do the spare bedrooms once a month… so that cuts the square footage back quite a bit. Maybe I should hire on a trial basis….

  • This pizza looks very appetizing and easy to make! We all need those quick and easy meals sometimes, especially if there are other things going on, like cleaning! (ugh) I needed a reminder of a quick meal, so thanks for sharing, Debbie! 🙂
