This week the temperatures have been unusually cool for the month of August, in Virginia. We took advantage of some ideal deck sitting weather, by grilling some Italian Sausages and eating on the deck. Ideal deck sitting weather, indeed!
David manned the grill and I took the night off from the kitchen. It was kind of nice to get a break from the kitchen.
The flames licked the sausages while they cooked and my onions and peppers steamed in a bath of melted butter.
Never joke about locking your husband out of the house, especially with supper in his hands!!
As usual, we agreed to disagree and we each prepared our sausages differently.
David has his sausages topped with mustard and sour kraut.
I have a new liking for bell peppers for the first time in my whole life. I topped my sausage with mustard and the traditional green bell peppers and onions.
After supper, we sat out on the deck and watched the evening light fade away into the clear blue yonder.
