Dry erase boards are not just for your home office, they also come in pretty handy in your kitchen. Here are two uses I have for them in my kitchen:
1. A Menu Board
A menu board is a great way to keep track of the weekly meal plan. I cannot count the number of times I would buy something from the store with the intention of cooking it for a meal and then totally forgetting about it. I mean when you’re busy living life, it is hard to remember on Wednesday what you decided to plan to cook the Sunday before. Am I right?
Every Sunday, I try to plan out a menu for the week. First, I see what I already have on hand in the pantry and fridge/freezer. Next, I search through my cookbooks and recipes online using key ingredient searches on sites like Pinterest or Yummly. Once I have a menu, I make a grocery list for anything needed I didn’t already have on hand. Once I have completed the grocery shopping, I firm up the menu, then write the menu plan on a dry erase board. It is a great way to stay on track with food in the refrigerator and helps stop food spoilage, which in turn saves money!
2. Grocery List
Keeping a running list of grocery items on the inside of a cabinet or pantry door is a great way to keep track of things you run out of in the kitchen. Before you go to the store you can simply snap a picture with your cell phone camera and hit the door.
I don’t know about you, but I have found that sometimes I run out of things in the kitchen such as baking soda or garlic powder. They are items that always seem to be there, until one day it isn’t in the cabinet and you don’t have it when you need it. There is nothing worse than living 20 minutes from the nearest grocery store and running out of something you need to make a dish. Especially after just getting back from the grocery store. Having a running list helps to keep the pantry stocked at all times. The particular dry erase board I have for my pantry closet is magnetized so I can also pin-up coupons as I get them.
I hope using dry erase boards will help keep your kitchen more organized and help to save you time and money.

We have a small chalk blackboard in the kitchen. It is meant to be used for reminders and shopping list stuff. It is used by the children (in their 20s) to poke fun at everything and often to say rude things about me.
I’m not sure I approve….
Best,
Conor

Lists, I have lists, memo’s on phone. I cook and bake so much sometimes I do have duplicates but they get used regularly and well before after sell date. I do not waste much, I love the coupons, do the same thing and I love our BOGO’s here in Florida. I am pretty organized because I have to be!
